Description
The title of this art installation is Love Language or “Yolotl Tlahtoa” in the native Mexican language of my ancestors. Love language is a visual art installation that symbolizes the complexity, beauty, identity, passion, and strength of linguistic expression. In my tradition, Love language or “Yolotl Tlahtoa”, is also a metaphor for the manifestation of our goals and dreams. While this installation has a specific visual aesthetic honoring the Latin/LatinX/Chicano/Mexicano/Native American community, it is important to recognize that the imagery is also intended to honor and represent people from all nations. The symbolic voice of this artwork or ‘Love Language’ is represented by using designs from around the world with the opportunity to also encompass designs that speak about social issues, environmental issues, as well as issues involving self -identity and expression.
